IBM Circuit Design Engineer

Job Scopes & Responsibilities:
IBM Circuit Design Engineers are working on cutting edge Analog/RF, Digital Cu
stom and Mixed-Signal Chip Circuit Design (e.g. PLL, ADC/DAC, HSS, Analog Swit
ch, Real Time Clock, High Speed Interface, Memory Array, Advanced Processor, e
tc...) in 65nm, 45nm, and beyond semiconductor technologies for IBM ASIC and F
oundry clients. The candidates will be closely working with worldwide design t
eams and responsible for:
- High speed custom circuit topology definition, simulation, and analysis.
- Circuit layout partitioning, floorplanning, optimization, and design checkin
g.
- Circuit testing, verification, characterization, and measurement.
- Design specification, documentation, and reporting.
- Communication with other function teams to support the related problem solvi
ng during the custom circuit design.

Job Requirements:
1. EE or related background in circuit design areas.
2. Industry experience (1-2 years as entry level, more is preferable) in relat
ed analog/digital circuit design areas.
3. Good Knowledge in high-performance Analog/RF, Digital Custom and Mixed-Sign
al circuit design, simulation, verification, testing and evaluation on Bulk CM
OS, BiCMOS, SOI or SiGe technologies.
4. Good Knowledge in one or more of the following design techniques: PLL, ADC/
DAC, HSS, Sample/Hold Circuits, Active Filters, Voltage Regulators, Phase/Freq
uency Detectors, High-performance/Low-power Amplifiers, High-speed Interface,
RF Circuits, ESD Protection, High-performance Memory Arrays, Advanced Processo
rs, etc.
5. Good Knowledge in deep submicron or nanometer CMOS device and process.
6. Good Knowledge in relevant EDA tools and environment, such as Cadence, Syno
psys or Mentor Graphics, etc.
7. Knowledge/Experience in one or more of the following application domains, w
ill be a plus:
- Digital media, audio/video applications
- Consumer electronics applications
- Communication and wireless applications
- Automotive electronics applications
- Other emerging technology and industry areas
8. Good English/communication skill and willingness to work within a global te
am.
9. Good learning competency, self-motivation, and be able to work on diverse a
reas in a flexible environment.
10. Strong technical leadership will be important consideration for senior pos
itions.
