Nokia Research Center, Beijing, is searching for a Post Doctor researcher in short range communication/HW.

Time to start: as soon as possible
Contract duration: 2 years
Salary: very attractive

Description
Research, design and develop short range RF circuits and solutions with a team of other device creation researchers. Planning, specifying and implementing the design of short range RF part of mobile devices. Being responsible of the RF part based on either existing or new components and architectures. The RF design is done in close co-operation with BB and PWB researcher, but also in collaboration with SW, electro-mechanics and system integration researchers. The work requires also direct contact to RF key component suppliers, to specify and review the development of components or their modifications. Establish a good internal and external communication network and contribute to demonstrator creation & scientific discussions. Generate innovative solutions and apply patents. Ensure global benchmarking and technology map creation & maintenance. New solution creation internally and with universities and partners. Coaches and supports others in research projects.


Qualifications
- Work experience in short range RF circuit and SW for BT, W-LAN, UWB, Zigbee, WiFi, DSRC, WiMAX and wireless handsets.
- Experience in board level research, design and develop of short range communication systems, digital RF communications architecture and analog hardware, RF frontends and baseband circuits, and hardware debugging.
- Good understanding of RF blocks designing i.e. receiver, transmitter and frequency synthesizer
- Experience of design and simulation tools like APLAC, ADS and Mentor environment. Experience of measuring equipments like cellular communication testers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers etc.
- Application software development (micro-controller, RISC processor and embedded microcontroller) for short range communication such as Bluetooth, W-LAN, UWB, Zigbee, WiFi, DSRC, WiMAX, or similar proprietary systems, use of integrated development environment for 8-/16-/32-bit processor.
- Understanding of mobile devices in system level and knowledge of firmware will be an advantage.
- Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Communication, telecommunications RF, electronics or component technologies
- Good in communicating in English both in speaking and writing.
