POSITION TITLE: Research Scientist - Coal Conversion Research

(Job Code: GEGR, WB889, 547951)



JOB DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses

- Conduct coal conversion (gasification and poly-generation) research and process improvement with focus on inventing new technologies

- Communicate effectively with GE Global Research Center leadership, GE Energy business, external customers, and team members

- Document results through patent applications, technical reports, presentations, and publications

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

- PhD in Chemical Engineering /Thermal-engineering/Mechanical Engineering

- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to contribute as part of a cross-functional development team

- Excellent problem solving skills - ability to consider overall problem, identify opportunities and implement major changes

- Self-starter, independent thinker, proactive problem solver

- High energy with passion for excellence

- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve aggressive goals and targets

- Embrace change and technology evolution as an opportunity

- Strong environmental, health and safety ethics

- Fluent oral and written communication in English
