R&D engineer in Nokia-Siemens Networks

Position Description:
You will be a member of a well established, young but experienced multi-national team in international project environment, developing and trialling 3GPP evolution technology. Excellent infrastructure, high competence level of the existing team and practical experience on projects will enable you to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of the key technical areas and skills required in the area of further evolution of 3G/LTE mobile communications systems.

Your job includes:

- Working as an independent, reliable and solid contributor in a project according to project manager’s guidance
- Implementation and update of 3G & LTE protocols based on 3GPP specifications and Nokia baseline
- Supporting corresponding product development (RNC, NodeB) and testing activities by providing technical expertise
- Developing new network concepts, research demos and trial systems

Requirements:
Requirements are:

- Masters degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering.
- Previous experience in software development using C/C++
- Strong debugging competence of big software packages
- Practical experience of Unix based operating systems (inc. Linux), inc. scripting languages: Perl, C shell etc.
- Team work spirit in software development projects
- Good English skills (both written and spoken)
- Communication skills with customers on the protocol understanding and implementation in English

Any competencies or skills from the following list are beneficial but not mandatory:

- Good understanding of WCDMA/LTE (3GPP evolution), esp. RAN related protocols
- SDL (Telelogic SDT Tau toolset)
- ASN.1 -notation
